Didit App
The Didit App is the official frontend implementation of the Didit Protocol, serving as the primary wallet for managing Didit IDs. It integrates the full spectrum of Didit Protocol solutions, from authentication to payments, delivering a cohesive and user-friendly experience. Currently, the official beta version of the Didit App is NOT available on the App Store and Google Play, and we will release it in the coming days. (If you search for Didit in the stores, you will see an App that has bugs, and is not yet ready to production, so we recommend to wait until next releases)
The Didit App is structured into two main components: the digital wallet and the Didit ID manager. The digital wallet functions as a non-custodial crypto wallet capable of performing any blockchain operation. It uses advanced WebAuthn credentials for transaction signing. Users create their wallet and link it to their preferred Identity Provider during the authentication process. Didit's digital wallet is interoperable and leverages WebAuthn to generate a public/private key pair stored securely on the user’s device.
WebAuthn, a core component of the FIDO2 standard, provides strong authentication by using public key cryptography. When a user registers, a unique key pair is created: the private key remains on the device, and the public key is sent to the server. For subsequent authentications, the device uses the private key to sign a challenge, which the server verifies using the stored public key. This mechanism eliminates the need for users to remember a mnemonic or private key and offers a user experience akin to Apple/Google Pay, where users can authorize transactions using biometrics like Face ID or Touch ID.
The Didit ID manager allows users to manage all aspects of their Didit ID, including verifying identity data, adding or removing information, and maintaining control over their digital identity attributes. This comprehensive management ensures that users have full control over their personal data.
The Didit Wallet stands out with several unique features. Its cloud-based accessibility allows secure access from anywhere, ensuring users can manage their assets and identities seamlessly across devices. As a non-custodial wallet, users retain exclusive control over their assets, ensuring maximum security and autonomy. The wallet also facilitates gasless transactions, allowing users to perform operations on any EVM-compatible blockchain without needing native tokens, simplifying the user experience by abstracting away the complexities of blockchain fees.
Additionally, the Didit Wallet includes a robust recovery method to regain access in case the passkey credentials are lost, enhancing the system's robustness and ensuring users can always recover their assets and Didit ID.
Designed for Web2 audience adoption, Didit's digital wallet ensures that users do not need to understand the intricacies of blockchain technology to use the wallet, making it accessible to a broader audience. Users can easily on-ramp and off-ramp within the Didit App, benefiting from some of the most competitive fees in the market. This feature simplifies the process of converting between fiat and cryptocurrencies, promoting global adoption.
