Roles

There are three primary roles within the Didit Protocol: User, Service Provider, and Didit itself. These roles interact with each other to enable seamless identity and financial operations.

This page outlines the responsibilities and characteristics of each role.

Didit

Didit is responsible for safeguarding and coordinating the actions performed by the users. For instance, the Didit Authorization Server is used for authenticating and handling authorization requests for the user on a service provider.

Didit Resource Servers such as Data, Payments, and Verification coordinate the different Services on behalf of the user for the Service Provider.

Service Provider

A Service Provider is an entity, such as a company, that offers products and services to users in the digital or physical space. Didit enables these entities to request access to a user's identity data and facilitate payments natively within their services.

Service providers can integrate Didit into their products and services with just a few lines of code.

User

A user represents an individual account in Didit, typically a Human.

Each user owns a digital identity that can interact with other users and access various services. They can transfer data, make payments, and interact with services seamlessly.
